Opinion: What qualify Jonglei and Boma states conflict to be termed as national threat?

Bor identity is under attack and threat with annihilation and you want me to accept it in the name of one South Sudan

By Parach Mach

May 8, 2017 (Jonglei Times)-I have been reliably informed that the government in Juba following last cabinet meeting formed a high level committee to investigate Jonglei-Boma States Inter-communal violence.
The argument was that when Murle kill Bor people, it is regarded as ‘criminal act’ but When Bor people Retaliate and kill Murle…it is condoned and termed as “national threat.”

Now, the question-the fundamental question that we must ask now or later is what makes this conflict so unique? What constitutes a national threat?

What qualify this particular conflict to be termed as national threat unlike other similar skirmishes across the country?

There is inter-clans and tribal feuds in Gogrial between Apuk and Aguok, same retaliatory killings in Lakes State between Pakam, Kuei and Rup communities. in Tonj between Rek sections of Ananatak and Luacjang and the list goes. Given this, one would wonders and says there is something sinister between Presidency and Yau Yau camp if not a conspiracy against Bor People?

One wonders whether the sons and daughters of Bor that lost their lives to Murle criminals in Maar, Paliau, Jalle and Duk over the past yaers and recently committed suicide? One wonders whether they slit open their own stomachs with a long sharp sword and spilled their bowels all over the battlefield.

Such a selective application of justice Mr. President can hardly be described as being reasonable or fair and surely that is not the way to foster relations between the Murle and the Bor people or elsewhere. Your Intervention this time Mr. President Sir is absurd and vague.

If we cannot live together in peace and unity, as one nation must we stay together by force? Is the unity of South Sudan truly sacrosanct?

I don’t mind anyone supporting a particular gov’t or party but be morally courageous to uphold the truth even when it hurts.

Bor identity is under attack and threat with annihilation and you want me to accept it in the name of one South Sudan?
