Jonglei youth over run Gurumuk county headquarters: Boma state Official

 Bor\Juba, May 8, 2017 (Jonglei Times)-youth from Jonglei have capture Gumuruk town on Saturday, local official from Boma state told Jonglei Times on Monday.

Peter Labelel, one of the Boma state officials said that Jonglei youth attacked Gumuruk town, killed hundreds of people and burnt houses in town.

Actually, hundreds of people have been killed, we don’t have clear number we don’t access to the areas, Most of them are children, women and elderly peter said.

Peter said since the fighting erupted in Katheleen, Manyicgak, manyabol and spreads to Gumuruk and nearby villages have led to displacement of over 5000 persons from their homes and they are heading toward Pibor town.

They are even killing livestock’s I don’t why they killing them, Peter ask?

He say Jonglei youth should respect us, we told them we are collecting your abducted children and raided cattle’s and return them back to you but they don’t want to listen.

He urges Jonglei youth to withdraw from Boma state territory and go for peace talks as the only core to bring peace to the region.

Last week, Boma state information minister, Achuan John said the state governor requested his Jonglei state counterpart to call back the youth, amid assurance they will recover the cattle.

“We have collected 35 heads of cattle, and we want to return them to Jonglei state. We are working hard to return the cattle, but they did not give us the chance. The civilians keeping cattle are not around, they are in far areas like Kongkong and Jom because of the dry season”, he said.

However, Ayuen Guet Roor, the spokesperson for Jonglei state youth denied accusation saying that we did not enter to Gumuruk town; we are still in our border town of Pan Mach Bol in Anyidi county of Jonglei state.

It’s on Saturday; we clash with Boma state youth between Gumuruk and Pan Mach Bol defending ourselves Ayuen told Jonglei Times on Monday.

Ayuen say we shall not go for peace talks unless 180 children abducted and 200, 000 herds of cattle’s are return then we shall go for peace talks.
