More than 30 dead and 18 kidnapped along Juba-Bor Road


Bor, May 7, 2017 (Jonglei Times) - more than 30 dead and 18 kidnapped along Juba-Bor Road, Jonglei State government has confirmed. 

Government officials say that more 30 people were murdered along Juba-Bor road near Gemeza when their Toyota Land cruiser heading to Bor was ambushed. Three people (a woman and two children) survived the ambush.
A relative of one of the deceased told Jonglei Times that three of the murdered victims were children; eight were women, four drivers, and 19 men.

The relative relating an eyewitness account said that the driver was first shot and the passengers were then executed in cold blood by the suspected gunmen.

The Jonglei State government has confirmed the killings and said another attack on a bus on the same day left 13 people dead, 15 others injured and 11 others were kidnapped.

Eyewitness told Jonglei Times that they attackers believe to be Mundarian’s.
