Dozens killed and 2, 500 persons displaced from their homes in Manyabol, Kathelen and Manyicgak of Boma state


Bor, May 5, 2017 (Jonglei Times)-The intensify fighting between Jonglei and Boma states youths is due to spreads to Gumuruk county headquarters’ and the entire state if no immediate intervention from national government in Juba Achuan John has said.

Gumuruk residents said gunshots could be heard around nearby villages from distance of 25 miles away from Gumuruk since morning of Friday, and its the youths from Jonglei who are doing that, they are even planning to advance toward Gumuruk town and other villages, Boma state information minister told Jonglei Times on phone from Boma state capital Pibor.

Achuan John said at least 2, 500 persons have been displaced from their homes in Manyabol, Kotchar Kathelen and Manyicgak when fighting erupted on Monday.

Yes, many people have been killed during the fighting, but we don’t have accurate number because we did not access the areas the youths from Jonglei are still there so fear is very high no one can go there, if you go there they might kill you, John elaborate.

He urges the national government to intervene as the situation is getting out of hands.

He calls upon humanitarian agencies to rescue the lives of those displaced from their homes.

However; Ayuen Guet Roor, the spokesperson of Jonglei youth denied the accusation saying that we are still in our border of Pan Mach Bol of Anyindi County in Jonglei state and we are not planning any attack against Murle tribe, we just assembled in Pan Mach Bol waiting for response from Boma authority.

He urge Boma state authority to collect and return over 180 children abducted since December last year, 200, 000 cattle’s raided and compensate the life of those killed during the attack in Jalle and elsewhere in Jonglei state; we shall not return until our demand is meet by Boma authority Ayuen told Jonglei Times.
